Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, I thought we should visit a bit with Cupid today, if he is not too busy to answer a few questions. But before I flag him down, I want to let you know that my friend Slim Randles is sharing some of his thoughts on love and Valentine’s Day over at The Blood Red Pencil. If you have a moment, hop over and see what love and fly fishing have in common.

Hi, there Cupid. Can you stop just a minute so my readers can meet you?
Don’t you know this is the worst day?
Sorry. I didn’t know.
Well, I’ve got to fly all around the world and remind everybody that they need to get their candy and roses and diamonds for their sweethearts. You know those guys are always forgetting.
I don’t think it’s fair to single out the guys. Plenty of women forget, too.
Not as many as the men. Trust me. I’ve been doing this for centuries.
But you look so young.
Good genes.
Oh, I see. You know, I’ve always wondered. Do you have a sweetheart?
Are you kidding. Who has time for their own love life when they are busy taking care of everyone else in the world.
The whole world? I thought maybe you had help. You know, a whole team of cupid assistants.
Nope. Just me, shooting arrows into every heart.
Wow, that’s a lot of responsibility. I don’t know how you manage it all.
Sometimes I don’t know either. But a cupid’s got to do what a cupid’s got to do. I’ll tell you, though, I’m really ready for Valentine’s Day to be over.
What are you going to do then?
I’m going to Disney World.

Since I won’t be posting tomorrow, let me wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day just a bit early. Hope your day involves lots of chocolate.
Both my husband and I tend to forget about Valentine’s Day. But I do usually get flowers. I get him a card. Doesn’t sound fair, does it?
My husband says, “But EVERY day is Valentine’s Day for us!” I’m like, “Then why don’t I get candy and flowers and diamond bracelets every day? Or EVER?”
Oh, well. Whenever he prepares a piece of fruit, he gives me half. If that ain’t love, what is?

LOL Very cute! – we tend to forget, too but often my husband buys teddy bears…which eventually become dog toys…

Nice. I like Marian’s comment as well. Special things every day are better than just once a year!!!

Helen, unless your husband would really love flowers, I think you have a fair deal. (smile)
LOL, Marian. Whenever I cut apples, I always give some to my husband. But then I give some to my horse.
Thanks for stopping by P. Creeden. Glad you liked the post. Now I know what to do with all the stuffed animals I’ve accumulated over the years.
Glad you liked the post, Patrick.
I agree, Monti. We keep the romance alive by remembering every day.
We will take the kids to Disneyland on Friday to celebrate Valentines Day. That’s just the way we roll.
I love giving out single roses to the ladies in my life that I happen to bump into on that day. Joy joy!
Stephen, what a fun thing to do. We used to celebrate with our children, too. The day is for celebrating love of all kinds, not just romantic love.
Shaunda, you are a terrific friend to pass out roses. I wish we met in real life so I could get one. (smile)
